Songs of my grandfathers
Michael Willens, founder and conductor of the Cologne Academy, is fortunate to be the grandson of both Alexander Olshanetsky and Herman Yablokoff. Two grandfathers, both songwriters and as successful in their day as Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim are today, who wrote music for many Yiddish theater musicals in New York during the first half of the 20th century.
At Shalom-Musik.Koeln 2022, Michael Willens remembers his grandfathers with a Broadway-style show band.
