Ivan Saez Schwartz

Viola

Hello there! My name is Iván, and I’m delighted to share a little about myself with you. Originally from the beautiful Canary Islands, I’ve called The Netherlands my home for the past decade. Here, I’ve had the opportunity to pursue my passion for music and specialize in baroque viola.

I feel fortunate to be part of the vibrant early music scene in Europe, collaborating regularly with various ensembles like “Le concert des Nations,” “The Nederlands Bachvereniging,” and “Les Musiciens du Louvre,” among others. It’s a privilege to contribute to these incredible musical experiences and share my love for historically informed music with audiences across the continent.

When I’m not immersed in the world of music, I have a few other interests that keep me engaged. I’m a big fan of beer and appreciate exploring the diverse and rich flavors it has to offer. Additionally, I find solace and joy in climbing, challenging myself both physically and mentally. Fashion is another passion of mine, as I enjoy expressing my creativity through clothing. Lastly, I’ve recently taken up amateur photography.

Over the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of playing with the Kölner Academie, an experience that has enriched my musical journey. It’s a privilege to collaborate with talented musicians and contribute to the group’s artistic vision.

Overall, I’m a passionate viola player with a diverse range of interests that fuel my creativity and zest for life. I believe in embracing opportunities, fostering connections, and creating memorable experiences through music and beyond.
