    The more I hear from conductor Michael Alexander Willens and his period instrument orchestra, Die Kölner Akademie, the more impressed I am: here they turn in vital, cleanly articulated performances that make best of the composer’s somewhat slender inspiration. The woodwind players deserve mention, primus inter pares, for their realisation of Neukomm’s liberal use of that section and they bring a lovely tone to his writing for it. The audio quality is equally worthy of praise, clean and spacious, with no detail lost.
