Description

In our Forgotten Treasures series I wanted to feature all of the excellent wind players in the Kölner Akademie. For our second recording I thought that Jane Gower would be the ideal soloist for the Franz Danzi bassoon concertos. She had already performed the delightful C major concerto with us which gave me the idea to record a whole CD of these relatively unknown works with her. Jane chose two other concertos (there are a total of five) and to round out the CD, we decided to include an overture by Danzi as well.

The result? I’ll let you be the judge!
